Madison, fourth president of the United States, was born at Belle Grove Plantation in Port Conway. That house later burned, and the center section of what was to become a handsome white frame mansion was built on its foundation in 1791. Today, historic Belle Grove Plantation is a bed and breakfast run by Brett and Michelle Darnell.
“Ghosthunters” stars Jason Hawes, leader of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAP), and his team. According to the Syfy Channel website, Hawes “has made it his life’s mission to help anyone with questions pertaining to paranormal phenomena and ghost hunting.” He and TAP members have worked to track down the presence of paranormal phenomena across the country.
